About LCP

Hello, I'm Lily.

I first fell in love with photography when I was 11 when my mom bought me my first camera, a cheap teal and white 110 mm point-and-shoot from K-Mart. Years later as an art student at UCLA, I choose painting and photography as my primary areas of concentration. Digital cameras were not yet a thing, which meant that I shot film. Why is that so important? Shooting with film makes you think. It forces you to slow down and breathe before pressing the shutter because every exposure of precious film counts. There is no such thing as autofocus, auto-white balance, auto-anything. Though I now shoot exclusively in digital, I carry with me the mindfulness learned from years of film shooting.

I am what you call a lifestyle photographer. I strive to capture candid, raw moments. My favorite shots from any given session are usually the ones I caught in between the scripted moments, the snippets of real life when no one thinks anyone is looking.

When I'm not behind the camera, I'm busy knitting vegetables, singing karaoke, and running after my teenagers.
